HydroMAG filter is a hydronic loop filter designed to remove fine iron oxides impurities from the water. Magnetitie build up can have damaging effects on heat exchangers, pumps, efficiency loss. Manufactures reccomend adding these devices into your hydronic system to help maintain peek efficiency levels, and prevent heat exchanger failures.

After several months or even years of water flowing through the radiator and metal pipes of your heating system. It is norrmal to expect the metal to eventually rust over time, but overtime  (untreated systems) The rust will gradually release from internal surfaces during the thermal cycling on/off process and combine with dirt and minerals in the water to form a mud-like sludge. This sludge is a heavier than water and typically settles out in low flow - high heat areas of the system. Overtime this buidup will cause Boiler leaks, heat exchanger faluirer, pump and flow issues.
